I have finally given in and created an account with last.fm/audioscrobbler:

http://www.last.fm/user/majutsushi/

It records the songs that I am listening to (using plugins which are available for nearly every popular music player) and generates charts from them. It also finds neighbours that listen to similar music, so you can learn something new. Really nice!

12:23 am - Saturday
Here are a few pictures from our JRobots programming contest yesterday.
The goal was to program a robot that would then fight in an arena against another one (using a rocket launcher) while trying to avoid the enemy's fire. Our scanning algorithm for finding the enemy unfortunately didn't work the way we expected it to, but we still got the third place (of five teams ;)).
After that, we decided that as we're already in the city we could watch Episode 3. It was just as I expected it to be after what I'd heard from others: better than the first two, while still not quite as good as the old trilogy. But entertaining nonetheless, and I liked the darker atmosphere as it was more fitting and actually managed to revive a bit of the old 'Star Wars feeling'.
So all in all it was a fun Saturday. And now, back to work ...

This is the best Flash movie I have ever seen.
You probably won't get it if you didn't play Final Fantasy VI until the end, though. So if you plan on doing this, watch the video afterwards, as it contains major spoilers. An at least rough knowledge of the history of gaming consoles is also a great plus.
The nostalgia almost made me cry.

Beware: long.

Champion!
You've seen 88% of the internet, and shed 63% of the tears...

Congratulations! You're the internet master. You've managed to see just enough of it without turning yourself into a monster.

And don't go any further! It's dehumanizing from here on in. If you
keep finding new and weird things online, you'll become a burnt out
husk of a human being. You'll be left writing online tests to warn
others away from the path you've come down. Be happy with what you
know, and be happy that you don't know any more.

Chin up, this is the best category to be in! You aced the quiz!!!

You scored as Existentialism. Your life is guided by the concept of Existentialism: You choose the meaning and purpose of your life.

“Man is condemned to be free; because once thrown into the world, he is responsible for everything he does.”

“It is up to you to give [life] a meaning.”

--Jean-Paul Sartre

“It is man's natural sickness to believe that he possesses the Truth.”

--Blaise Pascal

[Aus: Psychologie heute, 10/2003, über einen Artikel von Rentfrow/Gosling,
Journal of Personality and Social Psychology 6/2003]

Gruppen. Am wenigsten beredt ist die dritte Gruppe. An analytischem

Forscher.
